Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

• Minimum age: 13 years old
• Users under 18 require verified parental consent
• Must be enrolled at a Singapore educational institution (MVP)
• Must provide accurate age and eligibility information

2. Community guidelines & prohibited conduct

KŌDO is a safe space for friend groups. The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account suspension and potential legal referral:

Drugs & illegal substances

Discussing, referencing, buying, or selling any controlled substance under Singapore's Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA). Using coded language to facilitate drug transactions. Sharing information about obtaining illegal substances. Any content that normalises drug use among minors.

Violence & threats

Threatening physical harm to any person. Sharing content that incites or glorifies violence. Coordinating any form of physical confrontation.

Self-harm & suicide

Content that promotes, glorifies, or instructs self-harm. Sharing methods of suicide or self-injury. Targeting vulnerable individuals with harmful content. Note: we will always display crisis resources and may contact relevant authorities if a user appears at risk.

Sexual content

Any sexual content whatsoever involving minors. Grooming behaviour of any kind. Soliciting, sharing, or requesting intimate images. Sexual harassment of any kind.

Bullying & harassment

Targeted bullying or harassment of any individual. Coordinated harassment campaigns. Doxxing or sharing personal information to harm others. Impersonating another person.

Illegal activity

Academic fraud (exam cheating, assignment copying). Financial fraud, scams, or phishing. Circumventing age verification or safety features. Any activity illegal under Singapore law.

3. Enforcement

• Strike 1: warning issued, safety event logged
• Strike 2: temporary feature restrictions
• Strike 3: account suspended pending review
• Critical violations: immediate ban + legal referral

KŌDO reserves the right to report content or user behaviour to Singapore authorities where required by law or where we believe a person is at risk of harm.

4. Your content

You own your messages. KŌDO stores only encrypted content we cannot read. We claim no rights over your lingo or codebooks. By using KŌDO you grant a limited licence to store and transmit encrypted content to deliver the service.

5. Account termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for any violation of these terms, for providing false age or eligibility information, or for any conduct placing minors at risk. You may delete your account anytime via Settings → Data Rights.

6. Limitation of liability

KŌDO is provided as-is. We are not liable for data loss from The Great Burn or codebook expiry — these are intentional features. We are not liable for content exchanged between users.

7. Governing law

Singapore law governs these terms. Disputes are subject to Singapore courts jurisdiction.
